Is there a way to pause a recording?
The problem is, when Side 1 of an album is finished, I need to flip the album over to side 2, this takes several seconds all while the recording is still taking place, thus creating a long gap between the last song on Side 1 and the first song on Side 2 once a CD is created.

Are you using a Tape Express? What is the product you are talking about?

New ION Tape Express + user. How do I get the software to record the entire tape without having to start and stop between tracks?
After recording 1st track on tape software took me back to the recording screen as if I were considering switching/skipping tracks or switching tapes. I just want to "set it and forget it".

Tape Express + auto recording entire tape.-
Hi Jay:
Not certain that audicity solves the problem as it is not very intuitive on splitting tracks. Is the EZ Tape software and/or the tape express plus device capable of recording at least an entire side of a tape? Rocket scientist I am not. Idiot perhaps. -

This is for the "Tape Express" regarding this issue:
Play Mode: Selects what the tape does when it reaches the end of a side. When set to the "loop" icon, the tape will automatically switch direction and begin playing the opposite side when one side has finished. When set to the single arrow icon, the tape will simply stop when a side has finished. -

No, I am using the QUICK PLAY LP, USB powered LP to MP3 Turntable

You won't have much control on chopping tracks up in EZ Converter but if you use Audacity you will be able to do more editing. You can get a free download of it here:http://audacity.sourceforge.net/downl...
You can cut out the silence or make one long recording multiple tracks. -

I have the same question and want to make sure I understand the best way to record albums and have them show up in itunes as one album with all of the songs:
I have the Profile Pro USB Turntable with Input.
I am recording LP albums so I have to flip them over when side 1 is finished.
Leave the turntable recording when I flip the album.
Record side 2.
Edit the long delay with Audacity.- view 7 more comments

I apologize. I was using my turntable for the first time last night. When one side of the album is done, I must turn it over to record the other side. In that situation there is no way to pause the software while I physically turn the album over and put the needle back on the other side. A way to stop the software from recording while doing that would be very beneficial. I greatly appreciate your concern and it really just seems to me to be something that the software logic would need to follow the natural physical happening when recording two sides of an album to import into iTunes.

You can get software like audacity to take the silence out and to also clean hiss/pops. Ez just converts to the file for you.

An easier way is this:
Record and export each album side individually into iTunes. If you are careful to have the exact same artist and album names for each side, iTunes will group both sides together for a complete album.
Works best with auto track splitting (you might need to update the EZ Converter to latest version from the website to have this feature). -
