icade Pinball Cabinet for ipad that works with the pinball arcade app.
Tell me you guys are working on a icade pinball arcade cabinet for ipad 2/3 I want this to come out so bad!
-
Anything you would like to see besides the side buttons?

well I liked the idea of the lit up coin slot on the icade would be cool also maybe a LED scoreboard at the head base of pthe cabinet and just. as close to
a real arcade pinball cabinet as possible like don't go cheap on the legs use metal adjustable leg -

Oh forgot another must have feature the ball plunger pully. This is a must for any pinball fan, and hopefully the game devs can implement it as a button so you can use it to shoot the ball out onto the table!

Awesome. Thanks for sharing Ramone.

Adding/integrating side flipper buttons to the existing icade would be sufficient and awesome. One reason i have been holding off buying it is because of no pinball option.

I already have an icade and I think a dedicated icade pinball cabinet would be a great compliment to the already icade. Just mod the icade if you want to add the side buttons but don't down play the awesomeness of a seperate icade pinball cabinet to extend the product line of the already cool icade products!

I agree with everything that has been said. I love my icade & installed blutrol so I can play pinball games using the icade. I'd love to see one built. Heck brookstone has done all the work for you as far as the look goes but for some reason they never released it. Attached is the image of the Brookstone version.

If you're itching to play some pinball on the iCade, the free iOS app "Pinball King" just got updated to include iCade Support.

Thanks Joe!

I agree the iPad needs to have a pinball cabinet accessory just like the one they made for the iphone. However some things to consider :
Real plunger would be cool but might not be cost productive a button would suffice just fine. Some of the most desirable pinball machines have a regular launch button for the ball such as:
Medieval Madness
Monster Bash
Jurassic Park
"Leaf" side buttons would be ideal as opposed to microswitch buttons but those can always be swapped out by the end user.
The translight or "back box" should have random flashers that you can turn on or off at your disposal using LED's would make it look nicer run cooler and last longer. The translite should be removable so the end user can customize it to their favorite "back glass"
A coin drop button
A fake DMD Screen perhaps ?
http://pinballarcade.com/ Just released a few famous recreations of some of the most popular pinball tables, if you guys could get together to display the games DMD / Back Glass which can be done in the software "future pinball" as well as "vitrual pinball" you would hit a home run. People want to play the classics that they remember in the arcade not some junky original. Some of the tables that they offer so far are pretty impressive even without it being inside a cabinet play fantastic some of those tables that Pinballarcade.com offers are:
Medieval Madness (Williams)!
Tales of the Arabian NightsTM, Ripley's Believe It or NotTM, Theatre of MagicTM, and Black HoleTM. Pinbot!
Customizable artwork would sell for sure people want to make it their own. Most collectors replace sun faded artwork and spend hundreds of dollars alone on that I think that would be huge to allow people to submit their own artwork if you provide a template. -
-
this guy did it somewhat I don't know if he used an ipad but this is the look that people would want more or less : Chrome or fake chrome looking legs with bolts that can detach so you can customize the artwork on the cabinet.
If you can somehow have people as an option slip their iphone in as the DMD to have it work that way OHHHHH BOYYY!
Example of what the iphone would display (the dmd part of the game)

Pinball is still being produced by Gary Stern and very much alive today. Also another company is about to release a table Wizard of Oz made by Jersey Jack Pinball (http://www.jerseyjackpinball.com/). The problem is that pinball is tough to reach the masses because of the cost and size for the home. However the ION Portable iPad "Pincade" or "iPin" unit would be ideal and appeal to more people.
I'm not sure if I mentioned it but it would be nice to have the back box fold down just like a real pinball machine would.
The audio speakers are an important part to the Pincade or ION iPin as some people that buy pins literally upgrade the audio with a sub woofer kit. Audio became more focused once they started to utilize the DCS (Digital Compression System)
These are the pins that sound the best:
Attack From Mars (1995) (DCS95)
Cactus Canyon (1998) (DCS95)
Champion Pub (1998) (DCS95)
Cirqus Voltaire (1997) (DCS95)
Corvette (1994)
Demolition Man (1994)
Dirty Harry (1995)
The Flintstones (1994)
Indiana Jones: The Pinball Adventure (1993)
Indianapolis 500 (1995)
Jack*Bot (1995)
Johnny Mnemonic (1995)
Judge Dredd (1993)
Medieval Madness (1997) (DCS95)
Monster Bash (1998) (DCS95)
NBA Fastbreak (1997) (DCS95)
No Fear: Dangerous Sports (1995)
Popeye Saves the Earth (1994)
Revenge From Mars (1999) (DCS2 ROM-based)
Safecracker (1996) (DCS95)
Scared Stiff (1996) (DCS95)
The Shadow (1994)
Star Wars Episode I (1999) (DCS2 ROM-based)
Star Trek: The Next Generation (1993)
Tales of the Arabian Nights (1996) (DCS95)
Theatre of Magic (1995)
World Cup Soccer (1994)
Who Dunnit? (1995)
Another thing to focus on is lighting. Lighting people spend 200-300 just on LED kits for their current pin. I'm not sure how you can implement this efficiently as the playfield is obviously the iPad. You would hit a home run on this if it's clean. I know thinkgeek would offer it along with other retailers.
While Chrome looking legs for the table are great the chrome side rails might look attractive but might draw attention away from the players eyes. I think just go with a powder coated black side rails to frame out the playfield as opposed to chrome.
OK now I'm thinking out of the box like Josh Baskin in the movie BIG, what if ... you had the ipin / pincade be able to transform or convert it into a juke box, think about that ! You have all your MP3's on your ipad... your cabinet not only doubles as a pinball cabinet but also a Juke Box! People love sound docks... just focus on the audio boom you guys hit a home run top seller for the holidays, Id love to be a tester! -

Josh is deep in the pinball game ;-) Your input is very appreciated!
