I’m frustrated

EZ Converter will not record the last few seconds of a track

I was ripping an album track by track.

The final track on the album is recorded by EZ converter and I wait until the pick up arm returns to stop. It is only then that I stop the recording, yet when I play back the recording the last few seconds of the track are cut off. I have tried rerecording the track several times but the result is the same.

Is this a settings problem?

  • Hello,

    Thanks for posting.

It sounds like you have the split-track function enabled within the software. Thankfully this is a quick and easy fix. Please refer to the information below to learn more about the Split-Track function in EZ Vinyl Tape Converter:

    Split-Track Function

The EZ software allows the ability to automatically create new tracks. How this works is the software listens to the silences and reads them as a separation between tracks.
This is not a perfect technology. Sometimes within a song there is a silence before the track has ended. The software may think this is the end of the track, and split the track. In other instances certain records may have songs that overlap or blend into each other. The software then has a difficult time separating the two tracks. The end result is multiple tracks merged into one track in your final recording.

Troubleshooting track count and recordings that are the incorrect length

Some instances your recording may only record for 1:00 then stop. This is also corrected with the solution below.
To remedy these problematic albums it is recommended to un-check the box in Step 2 Split recording into tracks.

In Step 3 there will be a new track button you can press each time you want the software to create a new track. The recording process will continue, as you split the tracks. This is the most accurate way to record. If you do not click new track, the result will be one long continuous track.

    Hope this helps!

  • Hi there, me again. I'm still having problems with the last track on an album cutting out. I unchecked the split track mode but the problem remains and all I can do is accept I'm going to lose the last track..or fade it out at the end using audio editing software. VERY frustrated

    Any suggestions

  • Have you tried using Audacity? You may have more success with using that software. This guide below will walk you through how to convert your albums using Audacity and will also include a download link:

  • Hi Bill

Thanks I will try Audacity. It's a shame that I am having problems with your software as I really like the interface and the simplicity of operation
